When Are We Going To Stop Masking Our Identities?
Will we ever return to the pre-covid days, Economically?
At the start of 2020, we were unexpectedly introduced to a virus known as COVID 19, thus thrusting us forward into a world of chaos. The unemployment rate skyrocketed and many people were forced to endure hardships they never imagined. As of now, there's been 4.3 million COVID related deaths globally, with no signs of the virus slowing down anytime soon.
When will it End?
Halloween (October 31st) was initially the intended day for wearing masks, due to the celebratory festivities connected to the origins of that holiday. Now we are required to wear masks on a daily basis, because of a relentless virus that has no definitive cure as of yet. Yes, you can get vaccinated, but people who are choosing to do so are also reporting that the virus is still capable of infiltrating the human body undetected.
Its definitely been a rollercoaster ride for the last year and a half. The surge in daily COVID cases is beginning to rise once again, and the Delta variant, (which is said to be more transmittable than the Alpha variant), is wreaking havoc on millions of peoples lives around the world. A face-mask should be at the top of anyones list of essential items, that plans to survive this pandemic.
Closing Statement
There’s a scene from the film Batman Returns, where Bruce Wayne (Batman) encounters Selina Kyle (Catwoman)at a masqurade, and they have a brief conversation about how they’re both tired of wearing masks. That particular scene resonates with me now more than ever. My current outlook on the future consists of minimal optimism, but hopefully that changes over time.
